How much Zinox product do you need for your project?
Measure the area, count the coats and choose the right coverage. Here are the calculations, examples and details to check before preparing your cart.
Three numbers to plan your purchase
Use the area actually being coated, the planned coat count and the coverage of the selected product and method.
Round up to whole containers.
For a coverage range, calculate both ends separately. For cleaning, use the area to clean rather than the paint coat count. The product-page calculators handle the established coverage rules.
Coverage for all ten products
Coating figures are per coat. Z-Cleaner is the cleaning exception after dilution. These are estimates, not guaranteed consumption.
| Product | Format | Estimated coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Z-Seal | 18.9 L | 550 sq. ft. roller · 400 sq. ft. airless |
| Z-Steel | 18.9 L | 2,500 sq. ft. |
| Z-Shield | 18.9 L | 1,500 sq. ft. |
| Z-Stone | 18.9 L | 2,000 sq. ft. |
| Z-Wood | 18.9 L | 2,000 sq. ft. |
| Z-Therm | 18.9 L | 1,250 sq. ft. |
| Z-Dry | 18.9 L | 2,000 sq. ft. |
| Z-Pool | 18.9 L | 1,248–1,533 sq. ft. |
| Z-Floor | A+B kit · 18.9 L total | 389–545 sq. ft. · 85% efficiency included |
| Z-Cleaner | 3.78 L + 4 gallons water | 1,500 sq. ft. cleaning after dilution |
Z-Pool: 2–2.5 mils dry film. Z-Floor: 5–7 mils dry film, complete A+B kit, 85% efficiency already included. Exact bounds are used in the calculators before rounding.
Calculations, examples and buying
How do I calculate the container count?
Multiply area by coat count, divide by per-container coverage and round up to the next whole container. Example: 1,000 sq. ft. of Z-Stone with two coats gives 1,000 × 2 ÷ 2,000 = one pail. Coverage is indicative: porosity, losses and actual conditions can increase consumption.
Why does Z-Seal’s result depend on the method?
Confirmed coverage is 550 sq. ft. by roller and 400 sq. ft. by airless, per pail, per coat. For 1,000 sq. ft. with one coat, that means two pails by roller or three by airless. Do not average the two methods. Select the actual application method before calculating.
Why do Z-Pool and Z-Floor give a range?
Their coverage varies with specified film thickness. For a range, the smaller container count uses higher coverage and the larger count uses lower coverage. Calculators use precise bounds before rounding; figures in this guide are rounded for readability. Do not replace the range with an average.
What examples do the two range calculators give?
Z-Pool: 2,000 sq. ft. with one coat gives two pails; 4,000 sq. ft. with two coats gives six to seven pails. Z-Floor: 1,000 sq. ft. with one coat gives two to three complete A+B kits; 2,000 sq. ft. with two coats gives eight to eleven kits. Z-Floor already includes 85% efficiency: do not automatically subtract another 15%.
How do I count Z-Cleaner?
One 3.78 L container of concentrate, diluted with four gallons of water, corresponds to approximately 1,500 sq. ft. of cleaning. For 3,000 sq. ft., plan two concentrate containers, each with its dilution. Do not double cleaner simply because paint has two coats. Multiple cleaning passes are a separate requirement to plan.
Can I use square metres?
Yes. Product calculators accept sq. ft. or m². One square metre is approximately 10.764 sq. ft. Enter the unit of your measurement rather than simply changing its label. Wall, ceiling and roof area must reflect the area actually being coated; this guide does not measure a roof from a photo or address.
Should I add an allowance?
An allowance can depend on porosity, texture, losses and equipment. This guide does not apply a universal percentage. Z-Floor’s practical estimate already includes 85% efficiency. Discuss actual conditions with Zinox rather than adding or subtracting several overlapping allowances.
Is the coat count always one?
No. Table coverage is per coat, not an instruction to apply only one coat. Current Z-Wood and Z-Stone pages recommend two coats; Z-Steel generally calls for two. For Z-Pool, Z-Floor and other systems, use the coat count specified for the project. The calculator estimates quantity from that count.
How do I go from an estimate to buying?
Open the product page, choose an offered colour, verify format and quantity, then review the cart. For Z-Floor, one ordered unit is the complete 18.9 L A+B kit. The voice adviser can help prepare the cart and recap choices. The customer completes the purchase through secure checkout; never dictate a card number to the adviser.
Where do I check price, delivery and documents?
Prices, variations and availability are those shown by WooCommerce at selection time. Free shipping is highlighted on the cards; review delivery terms and the total for your address, notably for remote areas. Available French and English technical sheets are linked on product pages.
